Hello! We’re Kit and JB. Recently, we made the move from Hawaii to Saipan in the last quarter of 2023, and we’re excited to share our story with you, especially our passion for Japanese Kei cars and the experiences that led us to start K Cars Saipan. Kit wears a lot of hats—she manages a digital marketing agency, leads a team of virtual assistants, and oversees a traveling science exhibit in the Philippines, Wandering Minds. JB, on the other hand, is also a business owner with a love for Japanese cars that started when he lived in Japan as a kid. Moving to Saipan brought us together as we searched for ways to bring this passion to our new home.
Settling into Saipan came with its own set of challenges, especially around transportation. Getting around the island isn’t as simple as hopping on a bus or calling a ride. With limited public transit, taxis starting at $5 per ride, and rental cars running $20–$25 per day, we had to consider other options. Buying a new car was beyond our budget, but we were determined to find a reliable, affordable vehicle that fit our lifestyle.
That’s when we started looking at quality used cars from Japan, specifically the Kei cars we had grown to admire for their reliability, practicality, and style.
